Pedagogy Workshop Series:

Best Practices Roundtable:

Through our exclusive Best Practices Roundtable sessions, faculty share and exchange insights into their most effective teaching methodologies. This collaborative platform fosters a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring that our teaching practices remain at the forefront of educational innovation.

Recent Activities

Case Teaching as a Pedagogy

A workshop on Case Teaching as a Pedagogy was organized at PSG Institute of Management on 5 October 2024. The participants were introduced to the fundamentals of case teaching by Prof.R.Srinivasan, IIM B. The workshop offered educators practical insights into managing dynamic classroom environments while promoting deeper student engagement.

Case as a Pedagogy

Faculty members recently participated in a session on “Case as a Pedagogy” led by Dr. A. Satya Nandini, Professor at B.M.S. College of Engineering. The session focused on the nuances of effective case teaching and explored two case studies: “Overwhelming Social Media Response: Challenges Faced by Gughan Restaurant” and “Mumbai’s Models of Service Excellence.”

FDP on Analogue Gamification for GEnZ Learners

Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Analogue Gamification for GEnZ Learners was  organized for participants from Tamilnadu and kerala by the Centre of Teaching and Learning on 17 Feb 2023. The workshop aimed to enhance learning experience using games and introducing various methods to integrate games into management  courses effectively. Led by expert facilitators, the workshop provided valuable insights into incorporating these fun and interactive methods into teaching practices.

Best Practices Sharing Session
  1. Session on Flipped Classroom by Dr. Deepa on Feb 7, 2024:

    • Flipped classroom mode with pre-reading titled “Just-in-time Teaching and Peer Instruction in the Flipped Classroom to Enhance Student Learning.”
    • Video shared with department faculty followed by a quiz.
  2. Best practice learning session by Dr. Vivek:

    • Focus on Activity Based Learning (ABL).
    • Demonstrated Template for Teaching plan preparation.
    • Introduced technology tools for teaching planning.
    • Illustrated principles of ABL with live demonstrations.
  3. Session by Dr. Arul Rajan:

    • Highlighted PSGIM’s pioneering initiatives in B Schools.
    • Covered branding events, election surveys, HR’s Anveshana, and social sensitization to Managers.
    • Inspired faculty to pioneer best practices in teaching-learning for managerial skill development and engagement.
