PSG Institute of Management (PSGIM) is part of the prestigious PSG & Sons’ Charities Trust that is committed to uplifting society through education. Management education at PSG was initiated in 1966 with the setting up of the Department of Management Sciences at PSG College of Technology to impart managerial skills to the entrepreneurs of Coimbatore . The Department metamorphosed into the PSG Institute of Management, a full-fledged institution, in 1994.
From its modest start, PSGIM has flourished, driven by the vision of becoming a leading private business school in India. With over 60 years of experience, it is a pioneer in management education. The institute actively collaborates with global educational partners in the US and Europe to stay at the forefront.

Dr. V. Sakthirama is an Assistant Professor at PSG Institute of Management, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. She began her academic journey with a B.Tech in Horticulturefrom Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, followed by an MBA and a PhD in Agribusiness and Development Management from the same institution. Dr. Sakthirama’s professional journey is marked by significant research and teaching roles. She served as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Agricultural and Rural Management, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, funded by the University Grants Commission from 2014 to 2019. Her research focused on exploring and analyzing the supply chain of organic food products and modelling organic consumer buying behavior in Tamil Nadu. In addition to her research, her teaching philosophy centres around fostering students’ learning and engagement through enthusiastic discussions and innovative pedagogical techniques. She is proficient in various business analyticaltools,includingAmos,R,NvivoandPython,whichsheintegratesintoherteaching and research. Dr. Sakthirama’s contributions to academia are complemented by her extensive publication record, including 21 international and 7 national research articles, 2 books, 10 book chapters, and numerous teaching manuals. Her accolades include the Best Doctoral Thesis Award from Navraj Educational Trust in 2016, the Professor MS Swaminathan Best Young Scientist Award from Bose Science Society in 2017, and various research assistantships and fellowships. Her research interests include sustainable agricultural supply chains, Agri technology interventions, and Sustainable consumer behaviour.
