About PSGIAS
PSG Institute of Advanced Studies (PSGIAS) was founded by PSG and Sons’ Charities trust to promote high quality research in some niche areas of science and technology, as well as to create opportunities to PSG Institutions to collaborate with universities abroad.
The mandate of the institute is:
- Identify and establish R & D facilities niche areas in Science and Technology and recruit core faculty and staff.
- Establish research facilities in selected areas through public and private funding.
- Explore academic linkage for PSG Institutions with industries, institutions and R & D organizations at National and International level.

Program Overview
The PSG – University of Toledo, USA, MBA program is a 18-month joint program that provides students with a comprehensive and rigorous education in the management. The program is designed to prepare students for successful careers in a variety of industries. Students will undertake the first semester at PSG and upon completion will progress to the next stage of their academic journey by transitioning to University of Toledo, USA where they will ultimately earn their MBA degree.

To be eligible for admission to the PSG – UT MBA program, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.Â
For admission to the PSG UT MBA program, a strong command of the English language is essential. It is essential that candidates possess either of the following*:
- An English language proficiency score is required, with a minimum of 79 on TOEFL iBT (or 550 on the paper-based version), 6.5 on IELTS, or 115 on Duolingo English Test.

This MBA is a two-year full-time program. Under this program there are two pathways for completion of the degree
Pathway 1: To study both the years at PSG and degree awarded by University of Toledo
Pathway 2: To study first year at PSG and second year at the University of Toledo and degree awarded by University of Toledo.
The duration of the program is two years. The program is accredited by AACSB and is taught by a mix of international faculty from the University of Toledo, USA and PSG faculty at the PSG campus.
A recognized bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum of 55%
- Minimum composite score of 550 in MAT
- Language comprehension score of at least 40 percentile.Â
- Selection is through group discussion and personal interview
The minimum CGPA of 3.0 is required to graduate from this course and a minimum of 33 credit hours are needed to earn the MBA.
The MBA- UT program is divided into three levels:Â
- Foundation courses
- Core courses and
- Electives
The University has a Career Services Office that helps with jobs, but it is not similar to placement services in India. It is the responsibility of the student to find placement for themselves. The Office helps in Resume correction and provides tips on how to attend interviews and intimates on Job fairs or companies that are open to hire.Â
The City is quite an industrial place and has several manufacturing companies and there are opportunities for securing a job.Â
Stay back options after study usually start with getting an Optional practical training (OPT) approved. The OPT period for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) courses is 3 years and 1 year for other courses. If the student gets a job the company usually supports the candidate for work visa or H1B visa.
“Handshake” a job searching app is recommended to search for jobs and internships. It is again up to the student’s interest to apply for internships and jobs searching via various websites.  Â

**All the websites of these apartments are available in Google. However, it is recommended to choose an apartment as it would helpful in utilities and maintenance and also much more cost efficient.
You will have a lot of fun meeting new people. There are always some fun activities on campus. There is a University Recreational centre that has a Volleyball Court, Football Court, Swimming pool, 3 floor gym which supports all Sports. There are various clubs and associations in the University which can be found in the University website. A mobile app called “Corq” that has all the events that takes place in the campus. The University is a very safe place. People are very friendly and helpful. However, it is recommended not to go out alone at late hours of the day. Every member of the UToledo community feels included, respected and free from discrimination based on race, national origin, religion, beliefs, age, socio-economic status, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability. There are various associations within the University that engages in planning various celebrations.Â
The Indian Student Cultural Association and Centre for International Studies and Programs organized the Holi festival and gave out Indian foods and the Arabian coffee festival and gave out some coffee. There will always be some association giving out stuff to the students and celebrating every occasion.Â
The graduate program challenges a student and would demand the students to work hard. The campus is very lively and has lot of activities going on. There are various clubs and associations that engages students in various fun activities.
