Program Overview:

This is a two-year full-time program affiliated to Anna University. The curriculum for the program has been designed by MHRD.  Besides the regular courses required for an MBA graduate, students are provided adequate exposure to real-time scenarios of circular economy through 3 internships and 4 lab courses. These provide an opportunity for students to engage with industry practitioners and thought leaders in the sector. 

The program has excellent placement opportunities in all sectors. As a priority of the Government of India, there is immense entrepreneurial scope for students on completion of the program. Several jobs in niche sectors such as CSR departments of companies and NGOs are also open for students completing this course.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

MBA – Waste Management and Social Entrepreneurship programme curriculum is designed to prepare the post graduate students

PEO1 : To progress in one’s chosen profession

PEO2 : To be able to identify and/or create business opportunities.

PEO3 : To be an asset to the organisation as an effective team player

PEO4 : To be a socially and ethically responsible individual

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the programme, students should develop

PO1 : Ability to apply knowledge of management theories and practices to solve business problems

PO2 : Analytical and critical thinking for data-based decision making

PO3 : Value – based Leadership

PO4 : Ability to understand, analyze and communicate economic, legal, and ethical aspects of business

PO5 : Ability to lead themselves and others in the achievement of organizational goals, contributing effectively to a team environment

PO6 : Ability to identify opportunities and create entrepreneurial solutions.

Duration: 2 Years(Regular Full Time)

Eligibility Criteria: 

A Bachelor’s Degree* in any discipline from a recognised university (AIU) with minimum 55% marks in aggregate.

*Students pursuing their final year of study can also apply. In case of being selected, the admission will be provisional, subject to completion of the degree.

Entrance Tests:

CAT (Nov 2023) / MAT (Dec 2023 / Feb 2024 / May 2024) / ATMA (Feb 2024 / May 2024) / TANCET (Feb 2024)

Selection Process: Selection to the program is based on academic performance in the Under Graduate Degree and scores obtained in the entrance test.  The final selection will be based on Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates with work experience will have an added advantage.

Finance, Human Resource, Marketing and Decision Science & Analytics

Besides the concentration in Waste Management & Social Entrepreneurship students can choose four courses from 67 available electives from disciplines of Finance, Human Resource, Marketing and Decision Science & Analytics.
